In a tweet on Tuesday, renowned newspaper columnist Macharia Gaitho appeared to suggest that the outspoken governing Jubilee party legislator was using PS Kibicho as a scapegoat.

"Ndindi Nyoro should come out openly and state that it's Uhuru Kenyatta he's accusing of tormenting him. PS Kibicho is just a scapegoat," the tweet read.

The tweet comes days after the avowed Deputy President William Ruto-backing MP fired shots at Kibicho, saying that he was misusing his powers to silence politicians opposed to a Raila Odinga presidency.

Ndindi Nyoro was taken into police custody this week and arraigned in court over claims that he disrupted public order and tried to resist arrest.

His troubles started when the MP stormed a church fundraiser in Kiharu that had been graced by Kieleweke politicians.

The Tangatanga brigade, a political grouping of politicians backing DP Ruto's presidential bid, has accused the government of using the police to silence it.
