Kenyans on social media have expressed mixed reactions after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji ordered the arrest of Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich among other senior government officials.
The other individuals who are facing the impending arrest over misappropriation of funds in the Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal include; Dr Susan Koech PS East Africa Community, PS National Treasury Kamau Thuge, David Kipchumba Kimosop, Kennedy Nyakundi (National Treasury), Jackson Njau Kinyanjui among others.
A good number of Kenyans on Twitter seem to have been impressed by DPP's order, arguing that it will send a message to other corrupt leaders.
The netizens believe the order is enough proof that no one is above the law regardless of the position or status that he or she holds.
Another section of netizens opined the move would not carry any impact nor tame corruption in the government, arguing that the officials in question will be released without any serious action being taken against them.
According to this group of netizens, it would not be the first time that arrest orders are being issued against government officials who are released several hours later.
