Three suspected robbers stole an unknown amount of money belonging to Equity Bank on Wednesday in Moyale.
According to a police report, the three armed men were waiting for an aircraft carrying money at the Odda airstrip's waiting bay.
The report states that an aircraft carrying money left Nairobi at 10:35 am and arrived in Moyale after three hours.
The aircraft had a pilot, co-pilot and an officer from the Wells Fargo security company.
Upon arrival, they were shocked to see three men coming from the waiting bay armed with a pistol.
The three were ordered to lay on the ground, as the three suspected thugs stole an unknown amount of money.
“The other suspects forced the door of the aircraft open and removed two sacks among the three containing an unknown amount of money…” read part of the report quoted by Citizen Digital.
After taking the money, the three took off using a motorcycle.
They however left behind a third sack, with an unknown amount of cash.
Further reports say that the three made their way into the waiting bay by cutting through the fence.
The pilot, co-pilot and the cash security officer have been questioned.
Police have not yet arrested any suspect as investigations commerce.
