The Business Premises Rent Tribunal on Thursday ordered that the three tenants be left alone despite attempts by their landlord, Elimu Investment Limited, to push them out.

The premises is located in Nairobi's Tom Mboya Street, where the three; Abdul Karim, Shirin Amilarit and Jessica Oyugi claim they lost their property to goons.

They in 2015 moved to court claiming to have lost property worth Sh7 million when the suspected goons gained aces into the property, destroyed property and looted others.

Shirin told the Mbichi Mboroki-led tribunal that she lost her property when the group raided her shop at night, while the others also amended of the same.

They said that the perimeter wall was demolished to enable the group access the premises, before embarking on a destruction spree.

This saw the tribunal tour the premises on Wednesday to assess the depth of destruction and the magnitude of destruction incurred by the tenants.

They were accompanied by officials from City Hall and lawyers of both parties, with the matter set to be heard again on Friday, reports the Standard.
