Speaking on Wednesday at Kenya Television Network (KTN), Boniface Mwangi contended that if the head of state cared about his legacy then he would rid his cabinet of corrupt individuals including his deputy.

"President Uhuru doesn’t care about legacy. If he cared some of the people in his cabinet could be in jail, and he couldn’t even be having a deputy," the activist said.

Mr Mwangi held the view that the Uhuru-led administration had failed to demonstrate convincingly that it was keen on delivering on the war on corruption.

He went on to weigh in on the demolition on illegal structures which he said did not target the DP's Weston Hotel allegedly constructed on riparian land.

Mwangi's words come in the wake of what appears to be a sustained war on corruption by the government agencies including the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and Samburu governor Moses Lenolkulal are some of the high profile individuals facing graft charges.

Mwangi claimed that shoddy investigations were hobbling the war on corruption and called on investigators to up their game.
