The 25-year-old forward scored the goals as his Kashiwa Reysol side thrashed Kyoto 13-1 in a Japanese second tier end of the season match.

Speaking following Olunga’s exploits, Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars legend Peter Dawo said it is now time for the striker to end his stint in Japan and join English Premier League giants Manchester United or Arsenal.

“He can go to Manchester United, he can go to Arsenal; either of the two. I know he has the capability of playing for those teams,” said Dawo in an interview on Tuesday morning.

Enoka Otieno, a Kisumu based radio presenter concurred with Dawo’s sentiments but suggested Olunga joins Arsenal. “Olunga is a goal poacher and the best place for him to develop further is at Arsenal. Manchester United will end up wasting him,” said Otieno, and ardent Manchester United fan.

Dawo, a former lethal striker who currently works under the department of dports in the county government of Kisumu said success is following Olunga on the pitch because of his discipline.

“What is helping Olunga is that he is disciplined and focused. It is very important for the young players to try and emulate what he is doing,” he added.

Olunga scored 27 goals for Kashiwa in the league for the 2019 season.

He ended the season as Japan League two’s second top scorer, one goal behind top scorer, Leonardo of Albirex Niigata who scored 28 goals across the year.
