After one year of missing in action, assistant aide-de-camp Rachael Nduta resurfaced in Nakuru on Wednesday when she accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is in Nakuru where is is set to attend winners gala of Kenya Music Festivals. He visited refurbished Nakuru County Assembly.
Last year, while attending a similar event in Nyeri, Uhuru became the first sitting president to have a female aide-de-camp, selected from among Kenya Air Force.
And at Nakuru, Uhuru was accompanied by Lt Col Rachael Nduta, who became the first woman to make history in KDF as aide-de-camp.
She was pictured just behind the president, ready for service. Governor Lee Kinyanjui accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"Our story of success of devolution is in the farms, roads, improved healthcare provision and other initiatives. We have achieved this through pyrethrum revival, rehabilitation of roads and drainage as well as ensuring steady supply of medicine to hospitals among others.
"We thank the President for his promise to continue supporting our pyrethrum revival program and also upgrade of roads. We share his sentiments that if Nakuru prospers, the country prospers," Kinyanjui said.
Lt Col Timothy Stelu is the current aide-de-camp of President Uhuru Kenyatta. He also made history for becoming the first Navy man to assume the roles.
Previously, ADCs were selected from among the Kenya Army wing. Colonel Victor Mburu handed over to Stelu last year during KDF changes.
