Speaking on Friday, the renowned analyst said that he was attending a function in Mathira, and given an opportunity to address the crowd.

He stated that he proceeded to greet the crowd in the name of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), but to bo response, which he says made him conclude the region dislikes the initiative.

"Last weekend I was in Nyeri in some small village near Tumutumu around Karatina in Mathira constituency. When I was given a chance to greet the gathering I greeted them in the name of the BBI, there was silence. I gathered immediately that people are not happy with the BBI," he said.

He made the remarks in a recorded analysis posted on his YouTube channel.

He noted that the same must have been realized by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, the BBI founders, hence their caution with the report.

Manyora observed that a realization that BBI is unwanted on the ground us the cause why they delayed to receive it from the BBI taskforce, and are again taking time to have it implemented.

"It does appear to me that president Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have realized that BBI is not selling on the ground. That explains why when the report was over, when we expected Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila to receive it, it took quite a while," he added.

Area MP Rigathi Gachagua is among politicians who were initially completely against the entire BBI issue, before the recent change of heart from allies of Deputy President William Ruto.
