President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned Mama Martha Njeri, the mother to Nation Media Group chairman, Dr Wilfred Kiboro.
"President Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence and comfort to the family, relatives and friends of the late Martha Njeri Ng’ang’a who passed on last Friday while undergoing treatment. Mama Martha Njeri was the mother to Dr Wilfred Kiboro, the chairman of Nation Media Group," wrote State House.
The head of state remembered Mama Njeri as a good Samaritan who helped the poor in society and helped them become great people.
“Mama Njeri Ng’anga was a gracious and generous lady. She will forever be remembered for using her modest earnings from tea farming to educate children from disadvantaged backgrounds. She went further to mentor beneficiaries of her benevolence to become productive citizens,” eulogized President Uhuru. last Friday while receiving treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.
According to her family, she passed on on Friday aged 97.
Uhuru asked friends and family members of the deceased to be strong.
