Sifuna said that the two Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Mutula Kilonzo Jnr had put the law profession in jeopardy as they had invited the prospect of a conflict of interest law.

"Those two Senators who showed up in court to defend a governor appear to have put the entire profession in jeopardy. Now even our fees are to be reviewed in addition to expediting a law on conflict of interest. We'll done guys!" Sifuna said.

Among those who have taken issue with the services that the two senators offered the besieged county boss is Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja

"It is a complete conflict of interest. It is your right to have the lawyer of your choice and best legal advice but you cannot be a Senator who is supposed to defend your county and then defend a case on corruption. The Senate is mandated to protect county funds from corrupt individuals, not the other way round," Sakaja said.

President Uhuru Kenyatta in his Jamhuri Day speech in Thursday hit out at the two Murkomen and Kilonzo Jnr citing that they should stick to their senatorial duties.

"State and public officers are not above the law...One cannot serve as a legislator at the National or County level while at the same time practising law whether or not for gain," Uhuru lamented.
