Deputy President William Ruto on Friday was granted a warm reception when he toured Dandora, Embakasi North in  Nairobi.

Ruto inspected different projects at Tom Mboya Primary School and later interacted with the residents. 

During the tour, he learned the word 'Rieng', which is slang for a plan, while addressing the crowd.

“I want you to listen carefully. I don’t want you to say you never got information. Right now you have told me you never got informed. I have now informed you. Are you alert? Are you on point? (Nataka mnisikize kwa makini na msije mkasema hamkupata habari. Sahii mmeniambia kwamba hamkupata habari, sasa nimewapatia habari. Habari mmepata sasa. Mko rada, mko chonjo. Mko masaa, Mko yeye. Mko Rieng)”

Ruto also reiterated that the Jubilee government is committed to the development of infrastructure before the completion of his term in office.

The DP said that the government has put in place different measures to ensure there is transformation in different sectors of the economy. He asked the general public to support President Uhuru Kenyatta-led government attain its Big Four agenda before 2022.

“Infrastructure development, especially in learning institutions, is key to harnessing the potential of our youth, including growing their skills for individual mobility and enhancing our progress; creating jobs; advancing equity and promoting inclusive growth,” he said. 

DP Ruto has been traversing the country to inspect different projects initiated by the Jubilee government. 

His tours come amid pressure for him to allegedly stop early campaigns. He has been on the spot over church donations.
