Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has issued a new directive that will see all Kiambu executives signing performance contracts with the governor's office.

Waititu who held a meeting with the CeCs on Monday in Thika said the move is meant to enhance service delivery to the people of Kiambu.

"To enhance service delivery to the people of Kiambu, all Ministers working in my administration will henceforth be required to sign Performance Contracts with me," stated the Kiambu county boss.

He further stated that the new strategy will be used to appraise County Chief Officers (COs) and directors as a way to ensure service to the people is delivered

The governor also used the chance to warn the county employees who were not doing their job well adding that the new directive will be also used in appraising County Chief Officers (COs) and directors as a way to ensure service to the people is arrived at.

"I also issued a stern warning to County employees sleeping on the job noting that performance contracts will be used to appraise not only CECs but also COs and directors. We must all strive to serve Wanjiku with diligence," added Babayao.

Waititu's directive comes a week after five Kiambu staff resigned citing frustration by the governor's office.

Faith Njeri Harrison who was the Chief Officer in the Finance department, director of accounting services, his deputy and three accountants tendered their resignation letters a fortnight ago.
