Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has slammed MacDonald Mariga after he was disqualified from contesting in the Kibra by-elections.
In a tweet, Owino said that it is unfortunate that Mariga wants to be a leader when he didn’t take part in the last general elections.
Owino noted that Mariga is among the good people in the nation who are electing bad leaders without their knowledge.
He argued that the failure to take part in the elections is among the ways to vote for poor leaders to take charge of you in different ways.
“Bad leaders are chosen by good voters like Mariga who don’t vote,” he tweeted.
Mariga’s name was removed from the list of the contestants of the by-elections by the IEBC after his details missed out on the 2017 voters register.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) said that Mariga cannot contest for the poll when his name is not in the register of voters.
The removal of Mariga from the contest has already started to elicit mixed reactions from different factions.
Jubilee Party has vowed to appeal the decision by IEBC in the next seven days.
