Wairimu had said that she will not attend the function because the will had been compromised.

Through his lawyer Philip Murgor, Wairimu, who is a suspect in the murder of the tycoon, has now filed an urgent application seeking to be allowed to attend the burial of the slain businessman set for Monday.

High Court Judge Lady Justice Jessie Lessit had earlier this week ordered her to undergo a mental test before she is charged.

Wairimu now wants to be part of the final sendoff of the tycoon amid the controversy on the sharing of the property.

The court certified her application as urgent and all the parties were ordered to be present for further directions on Monday at 8.30 am.

The widow has agreed with Cohen’s sister, Gabrie Van Straten to have the deceased buried in accordance with Jewish Traditions in a private function to be held in Nairobi.

“The burial ceremony will be private and for family members only. Sarah and Gabriel will participate as widow and sister, respectively,” Murgor, who read a joint statement said as quoted by Capital FM

She has maintained that she is innocent amid an ongoing probe to establish the cause of the death of the tycoon.
