Apparently, three Kenyans, two from the larger Gusii region, are currently fighting for their lives outside Kenya, a move which further puts the state our healthcare into question.

Last week, Nyamira governor John Nyagarama was rushed to the US, where he is set to go for specialized treatment following failing limbs.

"This is to bring to your attention that I will be out of the country from May 10, 2018. I will be going for medical checkup," Nyagarama wrote to his deputy Amos Nyaribo.

And the move has irked a section of Nyamira residents some who blame the governor for the poor state of health facilities.

"He should have led by example by seeking medication in Nyamira or even in Kenya. This is a confirmation of a rotten health system," said Peter Mokaya.

Last month, ex-presidential candidate Simon Nyachae was flown to London where he is reportedly admitted at ICU. He was complaining of chest pains.

Celebrated billionaire Chris Kirubi, for months now, has been undergoing cancer treatment in the US and his state is yet to improve.
