Through popular city lawyer Donald Kipkorir as his representative, the athlete  demanded an apology from the radio station and directed for his name and images to be pulled down from its social media accounts.

The radio station was also given two hours to respond to the letter from Donald Kipkorir which was labelled as 'very urgent'.

Lawyer Donald Kipkorir shared the letter on his Twitter handle too.

"Note that is we do not receive your action or response within two (2)  hours of us emailing this letter and also posting us on the undersigned twitter timeline, we will proceed appropriately to enforce our clients rights," part of the letter addressed to NRG radio read.

The radio station begun a challenge of reaching one million followers on their social media accounts shortly after Eliud Kipchoge broke the record to become the first man to run a full marathon in less than 2 hours.

The challenge which was dubbed as the Kipchoge challenge saw the radio station change the username of some of their social media accounts to include the name 'Kipchoge'.

NRG radio had claimed that on reaching one million followers, they would award Kipchoge a car; something which according to the letter Kipchoge was not aware of.

Immediately after the suit proceeds emerged, the station changed and started calling itself the Mashujaa Radio.
