In a tweet on Saturday, Wetangula said that President Kenyatta is trying his best but he needs to do more before he completes his term in office.

The former Senate Minority leader said that the high number of stalled projects means the President is yet to achieve his ambition.

"Happy Mashujaa Day President UK. The country is littered with stalled and unfinished projects! Instead of launching new multi-billion projects, prioritise the resurrection & completion of those you started as part of your legacy," he tweeted.

President Kenyatta has maintained that he will deliver on his promises.

Speaking during the launch of Toyota Kenya’s new assembly plant at the Associated Vehicle Assemblers at Miritini in Mombasa County on Friday, Kenyatta said that his government will not relent in launching projects to benefit the taxpayers.

The head of state also warned private investors against derailing government's agenda.

“The public sector has clear instructions to prioritise locally assembled vehicles in their procurement decisions. However, I have noted with concern, that some of the players in the automotive sector are actively campaigning against this initiative by the government to support the investment in local assembly of motor vehicles,” he said.
