Speaking during an interview on Inooro TV, the county boss explained how during his tenure as governor, he avoided procurement problems, saying that he made sure that the procurement process was above board.

"Professionalism. You would never have heard me asking the identity of the person being given the tender," Kabogo explained.

The former county boss went on to explain that he never appointed members of his campaign team as county ministers, saying that the process of their appointment was informed by merit.

He made the remarks in the wake of an ongoing investigation by sleuths from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) into claims of corruption in the current Kiambu County administration led by Governor Waititu.

Waititu has publicly declared that he is innocent, claiming that allegations of corruption levelled against him have no merit as they are politically motivated.

The county boss claims that he is being persecuted for supporting the 2022 presidential bid of Deputy President Dr William Ruto.

The vocal governor has been interrogated alongside his daughter over claims breaching procurement and tender regulations.

His homes were raided as part of the investigations.
