On Thursday, the CA named its legal director, Mercy Wanjau to serve in the acting capacity before a replacement is named.

The new development, however, has not augured well with Wangusi who feels he still has the mandate to hold office even after the expiry of his term in office on August 23.

ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru has ordered Wangusi to leave office in good faith as per the regulations of the government even after he vowed to stay put.

Mucheru said that Wangusi has already attained the age of 61 and he should just leave the office in peace.

He made the remarks during an interview with Capital FM  after it emerged that Wangusi is not ready to hand over power to Wanjau.

“He is 61 years old and ought to have retired last year, and his contract has now expired,” Mucheru said.

“CA has a board, and it is an independent authority which has the authority to take care of that institution,” he added

Wangusi said that he is not ready to leave the office for a very junior person like Wanjau.

He further said that she lacks the capacity to run even a department within the office yet they want her to become the head.

“They are bringing in the most junior person, and I found it even difficult to make her run a department, I saw the news on media,” Wangusi said.
