The lawmakers want the commission to define what describes the disparities in the salaries offered to public and state officers at different levels. Speaker Justin Muturi has asked the commission to share the said information with the house within two weeks, failure to which the members will be compelled to take an unspecified action over the matter. He wants SRC to be clear on how remuneration and benefits are allocated to different officers. Some of the elements the MPs want to be outlined include allowances, benefits, and remuneration of all officers working under the Public Service Commission. The legislators also want a candid explanation on why the commission is objected to the Sh250,000 house allowances they have been pushing for.Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma had asked the speaker to make the inquiry before he decided to swing into action. Kaluma said the matter is urgent and the office responsible needs to address the same with immediate effect. “This is a matter that all Kenyans need to be informed about. We want a written response so that Kenyans can know what this matter being called wage bill is,” Kaluma said as quoted by Standard.
