The solution to the problems facing Kenyans lie in the Punguza Mizigo Initiative, Thirdway Alliance party leadership has claimed.
Speaking on Radio Jambo on Wednesday night, the party Secretary-General Frederick Okango cautioned Kenyans against being fooled into backing any other referendum bid.
He poked holes into the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), terming it a "zebra push" without a specific solution to Kenyans' problems, but an attempt to further victimise them.
Okango said Kenyans will soon come to the realisation that the BBI only seeks to benefit a few individuals, and will reject it in favour of the better Punguza Mizigo alternative.
"This BBI is a zebra which will not make any progress. It was brought to confuse Kenyans and brings additional burden. (Hii BBI ni pundamilia na haitaenda mahali. Ililetwa kuchanganya wakenya tu na imeleta mizigo zaidi)," he said.
He urged Kenyans to shift their focus to Punguza Mizigo, which he said will soon be making a complete return after its earlier rejection by county assemblies.
According to Okango, Punguza Mizigo will save Kenyans from their current owes by proposing the necessary amendments, which will be targeting Kenyans and not the political elite.
"We want to tell Kenyans not to lose hope, things are not over yet. The solution is coming through Punguza Mizigo (Tunataka kuambia wakenya msife moyo, mambo bado. Suluhisho inakuja, na ni Punguza Mizigo)," he added.
