Governors dismissed the survey's results saying AAA was living in the past, a statement that did not go down very well with the London pollster.

Through a statement on Friday, AAA called off Governor's reaction on the report termed 'Effective of Devolution in Kenya 2013-2019' why they questioned its credibility and purpose.

According to AAA, they sent a letter to the Council of Governors dated April 21 this year informing them of the upcoming review of the impact of devolution survey which also called for their cooperation.

They further revealed that AAA dispatched self-assessment letters to all governors, senators and county secretaries which act as a reply of their survey.

"We are aware of the propensity by politicians to demean any attempt to bring them to the account which has led to the withdrawal of International polling firms from the country and were ready for it. We take great exception to the blatant lies by the COG regarding our previous work and the fake claim that we have done a survey before where we ranked Kenya as the 7thpoorest in the world." AAA noted in part.

This comes barely days after AAA released a report that ranked Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua as the best performing in the country.

However, CoG claims AAA has not sent them self-assessment questionaries to date thus, branding the survey a political strategy to malign their leadership.

"The Council of Governors is equally aware that this is a political strategy to malign the leadership in the Counties. County Governments are not comparable as each is unique and each bears distinctive milestones and individual success stories and challenges," GoG noted in a statement.
