The country's second in command attended a church service at the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) Kenyatta Road where he addressed the congregants, assuring them that all was well in the governing Jubilee party in spite of media reports of a civil war in the party.

Rattling off Bible verses, DP Ruto thanked the congregants for praying for him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"There are times you might be wondering whether God answers your prayers in the vening and in the morning, I want to tell you standing here as the deputy president, that if you see as standing here like this, you should know that your prayers are being answered by God.

(Saa zingine pengine mnashangaa kama maombi mnayoomba kila jioni na asubuhi Mungu anajibu, mimi nataka niwaambie nikisimamama hapa kama naibu wa rais kwamba mkituona tunasimamama hivi mjue maombi yenu inajibiwa na Mungu), " the deputy president said.

Governor Waititu missed the church service as he is currently being held in police custody ahead of arraignment in court tomorrow over a raft of graft charges unsealed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
