Earlier, Education Cabinet Secretary George  Magoha had said that the Kenya National Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results will be released before Christmas.

Speaking at the Kenya High School after the conclusion of the exams on November 27, he had indicated that the marking would end before the festivities. It ended this week.

"Once again we mark the end of the KCSE exams but we begin another important process which is the marking exercise, which we hope to wind up before the Christmas celebration," the CS had said.

The marking exercise, which was conducted by 26, 997 teachers in 20 national schools around Nairobi, was however marred with cases of protests of poor pay and working environments.

Currently, according to the ministry, the relevant authorities are in the process of compiling the marks, after which candidates will get to know their scores the coming week.

This will mean that the marking will have been done in under one month.

The exam recorded reduced cases of cheating, save for a few instances, including in Nakuru where Eastmore Girls were found to have done the same chemistry paper earlier.
