In a Facebook post on Sunday, Etale claimed that DP Ruto used a Sunday meeting during empowerment program of the Lari Constituency Development Fund (CDF) beneficiaries in Kiambu County to attack Matiang’i and his Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho.

He also questioned why the second in command has been throwing tantrums at the CS.

“Today in Lari, the Deputy President and his team chose to use the occasion to attack CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i and his PS Dr. Karanja Kibicho. It was like a choir. Speaker after speaker tore into the duo using all manner of adjectives. The DP could not spare them either. He told them as much. Now the question is, why are Tangatanga chaps so obsessed with Matiang’i? Is he in competition with the DP? You know sometimes Kenya lacks sanity. Let waziri be,” Etale's post read.

In his speech at Lari, Deputy President William Ruto warned government officials against being proud of their positions and engaging in politics at the expense of development.

He asked the officials to serve the people without any form of favour or fear.
