Speaking on Royal Media Services-owned Inooro Television on Wednesday, Kabogo faulted Ruto for publicly lashing out at Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, saying that issues affecting the governing party need to be discussed behind closed doors.

"The deputy has started talking about party issues in public, hitting out at Tuju... Can't they sit down, and engage instead of removing their dirty linen in public? " the former county boss said. (Video 1:29-1:49)

Kabogo's strong remarks come in the context of a raging war in the ruling Jubilee Party that has been plagued by growing divisions.

Deputy President Dr William Ruto stirred controversy on Twitter when he hit out at Tuju over reports that the Jubilee Secretary-General had joined Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga's inner circle.

According to media reports, the DP and his backers have requested President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is the leader of Jubilee, to convene a meeting to discuss the divisions; a request that the president has not yet granted.
