Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has reacted to claims that deputy president William Ruto could pick sacked Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjiri to be his 2022 running mate in the general election.
Through a tweet this Wednesday, Kabogo argued that DP Ruto is not dumb to pick on Kiunjiri even after he has demonstrated a lack of intelligence.
"Dr. WSR is not that Dumb. When a guy has demonstrated having great lack of intelligence. How! My take. (See the tweets trending yesterday.)," Kabogo tweeted.
Kabogo was reacting to a post by the local newspaper where they had asked whether the President Uhuru Kenyatta had just sacked Mwangi Kiunjuri who could be DP Ruto's 2022 running mate.
On Tuesday after the sacking of the CS and replacing him with Peter Munya, several people said that it was a political move by the president and that it was likely for the DP to take Kiunjiri seriously.
Political analyst Prof Herman Manyora also argued that sacked Kiunjiri was in a nice position to be considered by DP Ruto in his quest for Presidency come 2022
"Kiunjuri looks set to become Ruto's running mate in 2022 because he has taken the beating for Ruto," Manyora noted.
Prof Manyora however, added that though Kiunjuri's political mileage has gained a plus after the sacking, it might drastically drop if Central Kenya people get Uhuru's message in the sacking.
