Lawyer Miguna Miguna has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is campaigning for a special seat in the United Nations Security Council to protect himself.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Miguna said that the seat will not benefit Kenyans in any way but the president himself as he seeks to leave behind a legacy before he completes his second and final term in power. Miguna said that the push for the seat will not change the lives of Kenyans.“Confidential sources at the UN Security Council disclose that Despot Uhuru Kenyatta is campaigning for Kenya's membership of the UNSC so that he can use that platform to protect himself after perpetrating the worst CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY that he plans to unleash in 2020,” he tweeted. The remarks of the deported lawyer come at a time when Uhuru has intensified his campaign to ensure the country is given the slot. The government wants to get the chance to have a representative between 2021 and 2022. The seat plays a critical role as far as the maintenance of peace in the region is concerned.“Kenya’s candidature is informed by the critical role the UN Security Council plays in the maintenance of international peace and security,” President Kenyatta said.
