The lawyer has accused the varsity's chancellor, vice-chancellor and other top leaders of using the institution for monetary benefits.

"The intellectual fraud committed by #JKUAT in monetizing award of PhDs is akin to TERRORISM, worse than CORRUPTION as it is a crime that takes away the soul of Kenya. JKUAT Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, all the Deputy VCs & entire Senate & Council Members must be arrested," he said.

JKUAT has come under public criticism after 118 PhD students graduated from the main campus during the institution's 33rd graduation ceremony.

This is the highest number of doctorate degree students to graduate in a single day from one university.

The public came out to point fingers at the university accusing it of producing fake degrees.

The Commission for University Education (CUE) swang into action to launch a probe into the matter.

On Wednesday, CUE in a report noted that the institution of higher learning had breached the universities’ standards and guidelines of 2014.

The university's Senate has been asked to review the PhDs awarded during the 33rd graduation ceremony.
