Students of Vera Beauty College on Wednesday evening lit candles at the institution's Eldoret campus in memory of their departed collegemate Emma Wanyotta.

Emma who was pursuing a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and was to graduate next year was brutally murdered a few weeks ago.

Her body was found dumped in Moi's Bridge with her leg and hand chopped off. 

The deceased is said to have been in a relationship with Idd Mustafa, who is suspected to have killed her.

The principal of Vera Beauty College Eldoret Evelyn Nduku Lagat said the aim of lighting the candle was in solidarity and honour of Emma and other youths so that none of them will face a similar fate.

Burial is scheduled for this Saturday at her parents home.

The body is at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
