A section of Jubilee politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto has questioned the inclusion of ODM lawyers in the ongoing court case involving Ruto's Weston Hotel.

Siaya Senator James Orengo and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo have since been picked by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) as it seeks to recover the land on which the hotel is built.

This follows confirmation by the National Land Commission (NLC) that the land is a public one, and is illegally being occupied by the hotel.

National Assembly Majority Whip Benjamin Washiali on Wednesday questioned the appointment of the two, detecting some sort of malice and predicting doom for the DP, on grounds that he will be denied justice.

“My worry is that justice is likely to be compromised," Washiali told the Nation in a phone interview, from New York City in the United States of America.

The remarks were echoed by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa who termed it 'warfare' sponsored by the 'Stop Ruto Movement' in a bid to crush the DP, apparently for political reasons.

The remarks have however been rubbished by the lawyers, who have said that they were instructed by their clients to handle the case and will do as ordered.

Amollo said that the case has no political dimensions.
