The suspect, Maurice Wasonga, reportedly used Omamo’s name to sell two vehicles belonging to the national government.

He appeared before Kisumu’s Senior Resident Magistrate Martha Agutu where he was charged with four counts including impersonation and obtaining cash through false pretence.

Wesonga committed the criminal act within Kisumu Central Sub-County on April 24, 2017, by posing as a public officer disposing the vehicle on behalf of CS Omamo.

Accompanied by his friends, whose identities have not been revealed, Wesonga collected Sh800, 000 from Bishop David Hellingtone.

On February 16, 2018, he impersonated Omamo for the second time and pretended to be transacting businesses on her behalf.

He obtained Sh270, 430 from one Nyongesa Khisa on February 22, 2018, after selling two government vehicles.

It has been reported that the man has mastered the art of creating fake documents, which he used to con people.

The CS has been lined up as one of the five witnesses in the case scheduled to be heard on November 20.
