The Toyota Land Cruiser V8 was bought and delivered to him at the county government offices last week, but he refused to board it, leading to confusion among his officials.

The county boss reportedly insisted that he is comfortable with his current vehicle, adding that he will not use the new one until it is 'it is officially registered'.

But it has emerged that he was to enjoy a test drive in the new machine before its registration, which hit a snag when he refused to use it as it did not have a number plate.

The development was on Tuesday confirmed by County Finance Executive Nelly Achar who said that the county is in the process of getting the registration.

“The car had no registration number plate. It only had a foreign registration, so we are now processing its registration,’’ Achar was quoted by the Standard Digital.

Kisumu Senator Fred Outa who had not been in good terms with the governor and has been criticizing each and every one of his moves decried the cost of the state of the art machine.

"Vehicles are not bad, they are good but the cost matter a lot,’’ Outa said.
