Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka was among the very recognized leaders during the National Prayers Breakfast meeting held at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi on Thursday.

Kalonzo who was the first ever chairman of the National Prayers Meeting took his time to shake hands with Deputy President William Ruto. 

Other things which happened during this big day worth noting included the following:

1. Crucial meetings 

The prayer meeting brought together all the 4 Kenyan big 'fish' at one event for the first time since the last year general election. These are Deputy President William Ruto, President Uhuru Kenyatta, opposition leader Raila Odinga and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.

This was also the first time the NASA co-principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka met at the same event with the president and his deputy after months of heated political rivalry.

2. Forgiveness

Kalonzo was among the the leaders who took the time to ask for forgiveness from one another. The forgiveness session was led by the president and his deputy William Ruto. Both Uhuru and Ruto asked for forgiveness from Kalonzo and Raila, who in turn, did the same.

“We have campaigned against one another, we said nasty things about each other, and we have hurt one another. I ask for your forgiveness,” President Uhuru Kenyatta said.

3. Hugs 

A Senator from the US, Mr. Inhofe requested the leaders to take their handshakes to the next level by hugging each other.  

"We are moving from the handshake to the hugs," Inhofe said

4. Somalia President appears 

Somalia President Abdullahi Mohamed was also one of the figures who could not go unnoticed.

5. US Senators

US Senators James Inhofe and Tim Walberg attended the event and encouraged the leaders to embrace unity.
