Speaking on Friday during a press briefing, Haji said that action will be taken against the county bosses if they make good their threats. He reminded the governors of the need to respect directives from the court.

Haji went on to fault the senate for giving the county bosses a green light to continue with their operations amid graft probe. The DPP said that the duo can only resume office after clearance from the courtroom

"The court said these governors should not report back to the office but now another arm that has no powers to break the court ruling has done so. Let us ask ourselves why is it that way. (Korti ilisema hawa magavana wawili wasirudi ofisini lakini sasa mkono mwingine ambao hauna nguvu wa kuvunja hukumu la korti imefanya hivyo. Tujiulize sisi wakenya ni kwa ajili gani)," he said.

Haji also said that the judiciary made a grave mistake for allowing graft suspects to remain in office even before they are cleared of the same.

He lamented that soon the police officers and other public servants will soon follow suit.
