Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has lauded Nairobians who helped arrest a suspicious man who was spotted taking photos of Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) and City Hall.

In a message on his Facebook account, Sonko argued residents to be vigilant of any suspicious activities. 

"WANAINCHI MUENDELEE KUWA RADAR. Pursuant to what transpired during the recent terror attack at Dusit, riverside, I hereby appeal to the members of the public to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities. Today a suspicious tourist akiwa na Passport ya Sudan was spotted taking photos and videos of City Hall and KICC, when members of the public spotted him doing so they became suspicious and raised alarm," reads part of Sonko's message.

According to investigations done, Mohammedalmuntasir Altayib Ahmed Hussein came to Kenya by Kenya airways flight 402. The suspect has even travelled to Namanga border by road. 

The intention of his visit to the country is still unknown When arrested he had taken photos of the two building. He was taken to KICC Police Station for questioning. 

Asked why he was taking photos of KICC and City Hall, Mr Mohammedalmuntasir Altayib Ahmed Hussein revealed that he took them because his work is marketing building materials

He is being held after being suspected to have the intention of staging a terror attack.
