Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu on Saturday inspected several projects at his backyard. The governor visited Wangige Level Four Hospital and Kikuyu market.
The move comes after he was released from Industrial Area Remand Prison following his arrest over the alleged misappropriation of funds at the county government.
The county boss said that he plans to hold a meeting on Wednesday in an undisclosed location after he was charged over graft and misuse of office.
The governor has been barred from accessing his office pending hearing and determination of a case involving the irregular procurement of Sh588 million tender.
While appearing before Justice Mumbi Ngugi, the governor denied charges levelled against him after he was linked to several economic crimes.
Waititu was arrested alongside his wife Susan Ndung’u over their alleged involvement in the loss of the said millions. Waititu has been linking his woes to his support for Deputy President William Ruto.
He alleges that he is being followed by the government to silence him before 2022. Waititu has vowed to stand with Ruto, who is considered as one of the frontrunners in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta.
