In a tweet on Thursday afternoon, the governing Jubilee party legislator said he could understand why Nora Moraa Isoe was not given coverage, wondering whether her names were the reason as to why.

The MP said that the pupil had scored an impressive 426 marks out of the total 500 in the just released KCPE results.

"Nora Moraa Isoe of Sambu Central Public Primary from Webuye East, was the Top Girl in Bungoma County with 426 Marks. I dont understand why the Media has given this girl black out. Is it because she has a Kisii Names? @KTNKenya @TitusOtiOteba @ntvkenya @SulweFM @westtv_kenya, " Didmus Barasa wrote.

The results of this year's KCPE were released this week by the Ministry of Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha in record time.

Unlike in the past where the results have taken more time to be released, this year the results were made public within a matter of days after the pupils completed their exams.

They were released in the context of a transition from the 8-4-4 system to the new Competence Based Curriculum (CBC).
