Samidoh who admits that even though he has not been in Kikuyu secular music long enough to warrant him the kind of exemplary success that he prides in today, it hasn't been a walk in the park for him as many may perhaps want to think.

"I can tell you that many people only came to hear about me in 2016 after releasing my first album 'Ndiri Mutwe Mwega' (I am Mad). But the truth is that I have been in and out this industry since 2009 after completing high school the previous year," Samidoh told Inooro FM's Jeff Kuria in a recent interview.

Samidoh a career Administration Police officer currently based in Athi River, adds that his journey to musical stardom was not 'instant' as it involved bumpy and rough rides before he could 'break even'.

If that is the case then, what is this thing that he does differently from the rest of his ilk that has continued to water and flourish his musical fortunes?

1. Catchy musical themes

The 'Wendo Maguta' (Oily Love) singer, says that when composing the songs, he likes to focus on themes that he knows are popular with his target audience and will augur well with what is happening in the society.

"This kind of focus blended with some artistic creativity often doesn't end badly for the artist. For instance, themes like love are things that will never fail to arouse interest among human beings," he notes.

2. Humility

When you allow yourself to get drunk with fame and money, Samidoh warns, your downfall becomes a matter of when and not if.

As such, Samidoh who has vowed to continue working as a policeman for the next foreseeable future, says humility before God and people will bring you unmeasured success.

3. Patience

With all his three consecutive albums being successful, the Subukia-born artiste says that these are fruits of patience more than anything else.

He, therefore, advises against overzealousness among other upcoming artistes saying it only leads to broken hearts, disappointments and eventually shattered dreams.
