This is due to the absence of a county boss, after governor Ferdinand Waititu was locked out of office by the court, following his implication in a multimillion corruption scandal.

An MCA on Tuesday tabled a motion of impeachment against Nyoro, with his crimes being alleged gross violation of the county government act.

In the motion sponsored by by Waitethie MCA Julius Taki, Nyoro is accused of encroaching into the governor's roles by convening a county executive committee.

"Following the court ruling in respect of the matter before the courts involving Waititu, the DG is reported as having briefed the members of the county executive committee and thereafter held a press conference declaring that he was the acting governor," reads part of the motion as quoted by the Star.

The MCA has also accused him of being mentally unable to deputize the governor, after his public declaration that he cannot work with Waititu.

According to the lawmaker, the press conference, where Nyoro declared himself the new governor, goes against article 179(5) of the constitution.

The provision for acting as a governor is provided in article 179(5) of the constitution which states that "when the county governor is absent the deputy county governor shall act as the county governor."

Another section of Kiambu MCAMCAs has also been attempting to impeach county Sports CEC Karungo Wa Thang'wa, over claims of incompetence.
