In a statement released to the media houses, its CEO Ronald Karauri said that the customers have no reason to panic amid crackdown from the government.

He said that the betting firm is ready to comply with the tax requirements to ensure it gets back its pay bill number with immediate effect. He also said that he regrets the closure of its services after the government made the declarations.

“I wish to assure our customers that we are in discussion and engagement with the Ministry of Interior and KRA. We remain hopeful that an amicable solution will be arrived at soon to allow us to resume our services,” said Karauri in the statement, as quoted by Standard.

The CEO also maintained that the firm is tax compliant.

Speaking at Kiamugumo Primary School in Kirinyaga County during Kirinyaga Governor Anne Mumbi and city lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo’s traditional wedding, Uhuru said that the government will not change its tune as far as payment of tax is concerned.

He noted that the government needs funds from the taxes to support different projects for the sake of the general public.

The blocking of pay bill numbers of different firms had already started to elicit mixed reactions from different quarters.
