Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has sensationally claimed the Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju is disrupting the ruling party's unity as part of a strategy to become Siaya County's governor.
Senator Cherargei made the claims on Sunday in Vihiga County during a fundraiser.
"Now Tuju we are telling you to pack your things and go to where you belong, go to ODM. We know you are fighting us because you want to con your way to being the governor of Siaya (Sasa Tuju tunakuambia funga virago rudi kwenu, enda kaa ODM. Tunajua unapiga sisi kwa sababu unataka utapeli kuwa governor wa Siaya.), " the Nandi Senator charged.
His tirade marks another escalation in the fallout within the governing Jubilee Party following claims that Tuju is actively working to undermine the party's unity.
Tuju has not spoken about his intentions to contest in the Siaya gubernatorial race.
Following the handshake between Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta, Tuju has been cosying up to Raila much to the discomfort of Deputy President Dr William Ruto's allies.
He served as MP for Rarieda between 2002-2007.
