A 17-year old boy from Suradoru village Samburu West was able to receive immediate treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) 24 hours after he was bitten by a snake identified to be puff adder on Thursday, courtesy of former Agriculture Principal Secretary Richard Lesiyampe.

Moses Lodopopit was airlifted by a local airline from Samburu to Kenyatta National Hospital after The former PS parted with Sh800,000.

A cheque of Sh500,000 was paid initially followed by another postdated cheque worth Sh311,846 to the airline on Friday by the Ex-PS in a collaborative effort to save the boy's life.

Taking to Twitter, Kenyatta National Hospital confirmed the reception of the patient and thanked former PS Richard Lesiyampe and Samburu West Mp Naisula Lesuuda for helping the boy.

''Received Moses Lodopopit, a 17-year-old snake bite victim from Suradoru village Samburu West, 24 hours after he was bitten by a puff adder. Thanks to Dr Richard Lesiyampe, Hon. Naisula Lesuuda and Wamba MCA Hon. Lucas Lekwale for airlifting the patient." KNH tweeted. 

The snake which bit the boy is considered among the most venomous snakes in the world with several effects including instant death if medical attention is not sought immediately. 

The former agriculture PS was forced to leave his position after he confessed to graft charges but said that he only stole from his enemies.
