In a tweet on Thursday, the flamboyant city boss maintained that his office doesn't ask for anything from the public to offer help.

"I wish to bring to the attention of the public on the fraudsters who are using my name to solicit for money from innocent members of the public using their mobile phones purporting to be my numbers. My office does not demand for money or favors in order to assist people/groups," said Sonko.

This is not the first time the city boss is warning Nairobians of fraudsters using his name to steal from unsuspecting people.

He once came out to caution residents against giving out money or any other favours for them to be served by people who pretend to be from the county government of Nairobi.

Fraudsters have come up with many ways of stealing from people around Nairobi.

Many people who fall been victims, live to tell how well organized they conduct their fleecing scheme.
