This comes after Hivisasa highlighted a story of a section of Kaptuli residents calling on the County government to sink boreholes and provide piped water since they walked for long distances looking for water.

Speaking in Eldoret Town on Saturday Njogu said she will ensure that no woman walks for long-distance looking for water terming it as strenuous to women.

They are forced to walk for 5-7 kilometers looking for this essential commodity.

"As a government, we have bought machinery for drilling boreholes and desilting dams. I want to assure Kaptuli residents that they will soon have clean water. Water provision is our priority as a County," said Njogu.

Hivisasa also found out that there is no piped water in the whole of the Kaptuli town, Tembelio Ward and residents only depended on rainwater.

"We will also buy pipes that will connect residents with Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company Limited (ELDOWAS) piped water. Its governor Mandago's vision of ensuring that If any woman has to fetch water, then it should be not more than 12 meters," added the CEC water and environment.

She, however, advised residents to harvest rainwater so that they may use it during the dry season.
