The Senator was September 26, 2018, taken ill after collapsing during the meal, in what most media houses reported as chocking from a piece of chicken meat.

However, in an interview on Milele FM's Kivumbi Show on Wednesday morning, the Wiper Senator cleared the air on the incident, arguing that he never chocked as it was reported.

He admitted suffering as a result of a piece of chicken flesh, but confirmed that it blocked the space between the food pipe and stomach and not the throat.

The youthful lawmaker was in the company of his colleagues from across the nation, after which he was rushed to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

"I was rushed to the Moi Hospital for treatment after collapsing. I was told by the doctors that I was not chocked. Instead, the meat blocked the way to my stomach and not throat," said Kilonzo Jnr.

He said that the meat was removed through intravenous technique.

Mutula noted that he was comfortable in a public hospital, unlike most of his colleagues who would have gone for a private facility.

He said that he did the same out of his trust and belief in public health facilities and government doctors.

"I was not put through surgery. Instead, the piece was gotten out using intravenous. I was very comfortable at the hospital and they did a very good job," said the vocal Senator.
