The coach questioned the ongoing purchase of players by teams which have been claiming to be financially unstable lately, some of which are even owing players in salaries.

He has pointed out that it's the very same clubs that are now in the front line in signing players in the January transfer window, a move he finds hypocritical.

"Where have they suddenly got the money because many still owe players salary arrears? This is an issue I don't understand at all," he told Nation on Monday,

He urged the teams to prioritise paying their existing players before looking out for new ones.

"It is funny, shocking and hypocritical that the KPL clubs undergoing tough financial challenges are in the fore front of signing players, yet they don't have money," he added.

The financial crisis is not only unique to the teams, but the league body as well, which has been suffering since betting firm SportPesa halted operations in Kenya last year.

Consequently, KPL has not only not been able to buy this season's trophy, but is also yet to pay Gor for last season's league victory.

Gor has also been affected and is yet to sign even a single player this season, even as the British coach says that some signings are on the way, after the financial crisis has been solved.

"We expect the financial issues to be solved most probably in the next 10 days so that we can also enhance our squad. We have already identified players to be offloaded, but it is not professional to tell you who they are. They will be informed before the issue goes to the media," he added.
