Kalonzo said scouting teaches one to be a better Kenyan.

He spoke during the commissioning of World Scouts Parliamentary Union, Kenyan Chapter at the Scouts Movement headquarters in Rowallan Camp along Ngong road on Tuesday.

Kalonzo said the training offered is good enough to mold Kenyans into better people for the sake of development.

The Ukambani political kingpin said there would be no scandals if scouting was embraced by Kenyans.

“If all Kenyans were scouts, there would be no corruption, no stealing, no selling of sugar with mercury because this is a leadership academy," Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo noted that scouts have played an immense role in changing the lives of Kenyans.

He said there are plans to increase the scouts' movement in the country for the economy's betterment.

“Kenya enjoys a massive 1.4 million scout members, making it the largest youth movement in Africa and sixth in the World. Plans are underway to grow this movement to 4 million thus becoming the largest in the world. I feel privileged to be a part of this,” added Kalonzo.
