President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga are on Thursday expected to visit Kisumu together for the first time since the March 09, 2018 handshake.

The two leaders will be at the Mamboleo Show Ground to lead the launch of the pilot phase of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program.

It has been confirmed that the Head of State and the ODM leader will also visit Ken Obura Secondary School in Migosi Estate.

They will lead a brief function to officially launch the school.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga will officially launch the Ken Obura Secondary School before proceeding to Mamboleo Show Ground for the official launch of the UHC program,” Benson Ojiambo, a member of the school’s board of management said in an exclusive interview. 

The modern School is a project of former Kisumu Central Member of Parliament (MP) Ken Obura.

 Obura who is now the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of East Africa Community (EAC) affairs and the Northern Corridor Development is expected to accompany the two leaders.

Obura served as Kisumu Central MP for one term from 2013-2017, with the Ken Obura Secondary school being among a host of flagship projects he initiated.

The very first candidates at the school sat for KCSE exams this year.
