In a short video posted on YouTube, the politician is seen hurriedly making his way in Kibra's Laini Saba ward moments after he arrived.

However, some residents shouted him down as they shouted Kibra Yetu.

The video has been doing rounds on social media. The Luhya leader has been at the forefront in campaigning for Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga in Kibra.

This is the first time he has faced hostility from the residents of the area since the seat was declared vacant following the demise of Ken Okoth.

A group of his loyalists from Kibra were forced to protect him as he made long steps while the rivals kept on shouting.

Khalwale has been campaigning for Mariga since he announced his intention to vie for the seat.

Together with Deputy President Wiliam Ruto, the leaders have been asking the residents to vote for Mariga.

ODM fronted Imran Benard Okoth to contest for the seat after the demise of his brother. Mariga and Imran are considered the front runners in the race.

ANC fronted Eliud Owalo for the seat.
